Tim Wilmot shreds Caradon District Council Chairman, Eric Distin

Tim Wilmot suggests
that the reader remember at all times
that the prime purpose of the prosecution of Tim Wilmot
was not the mere upholding of the law,
but rather the removal of Tim Wilmot
as a threat to the established order
by virtue of his substantive allegations
of criminal offences by government officers.

Tim Wilmot suggests
that the inclusion by police
of Caradon District Council Chairman, Eric Distin,
as a witness against Tim Wilmot,
and alleging threats to kill,
was a cynical deployment of a "safe" establishment figure
who could be expected to deliver the goods.

Tim Wilmot suggests
that Distin was a perfect witness for police -
Chairman of the council,
and a professional Chartered Surveyor
running his own estate agency practice
in Plymouth, Saltash, and Callington.

A safe bet for police.

The charge against Tim Wilmot connected with Distin
centred on a conversation they had in Callington one day.

Tim Wilmot suggests that the reader bear in mind
that Caradon District Council
had so upset a planning applicant a few years before,
that he had gone into the Planning Committee Meeting,
and fired a shotgun into the ceiling,
before saying "I am here to sort this out!"

In other words, Caradon District Council had a previous record
for buggering people about to the extreme.

The position was that Caradon District Council
were using every trick to avoid getting to court,
whereas Tim Wilmot wished to submit his case to justice.

What Tim Wilmot said was effectively this:-

"I want to get this case to court,
and I think Caradon should let it get to Court.

If it takes going into the Planning Committee Meeting
to sort things out,
then I am willing to do it.

But right now, I want to get to Court!"

Tim Wilmot suggests that the reader bear in mind
that Distin was clearly and obviously blocking Tim Wilmot,
and certainly had no interest in seeing justice done.

Tim Wilmot also suggests that the reader bear in mind
that this was a struggle of wills
between someone determined to expse government criminals,
and someone working hard to cover it up.

Tim Wilmot suggests
that Distin knew exactly what he was doing.

Distin was up to his neck in a criminal conspiracy.

Just how far was about to be revealed!

Chubb the barrister took Distin through his testimony,
which basicly portrayed Tim Wilmot as a nut case,
and Distin as a wonderful, upright citizen -
a model of level-headedness.

For example, Distin made a big point
about Tim Wilmot wearing an ex-army beret -
as if it demonstrated something dangerous
to wear what was an effective hat
for someone who spent most of his time out of doors.

Eventually it was Tim Wilmot's turn to cross-examine Distin.

Tim Wilmot was looking forward to it,
as he had used his intelligence-gathering skills
to research Distin's background.

Tim Wilmot asked Distin about his business,
and then asked him if he owned land beside the River Tamar.

The answer was "Yes!"

Tim Wilmot asked Distin
if there were tidal storm drains in the fields.

The answer was "Yes!"

Tim Wilmot asked Distin if the drains ever got blocked.

The answer was "Yes!",
by which Distin knew what was coming.

Tim Wilmot asked Distin if he employed staff.

The answer was "Yes!"

Tim Wilmot asked Distin
if on one occasion he had found the storm drain blocked with debris,
so that the incoming tide
would flood the fields with saltwater if it was not removed.

The answer was "Yes!"

Tim Wilmot asked Distin if time of year was winter.

The answer was "Yes!"

Tim Wilmot asked Distin
if he had asked his staff
to jump into the water in the middle of winter,
and unblock the drain.

The answer was "Yes!"

Tim Wilmot asked Distin What the staff had replied.

The answer was "No!"

Tim Wilmot asked Distin
if it was true that he had gone ballistic,
ranting and raving,
before jumping into the water in his best suit.

The answer was "Yes!"

Game, set, and match to Tim Wilmot.

Distin comprehensively trashed.

However Distin was also the source
of vital evidence against Caradon District Council -
