Tim Wilmot suggests that we reverse roles
so that it was Tim Wilmot armed with a can of aerosol paint,
and Tolley the honest citizen.
If Tim Wilmot had appeared armed with a can of aerosol paint,
within 30 feet of a Caradon District Council officer
accused by him of serious criminal offences,
those officers would have been red hot on the phone to police,
and
Tim Wilmot's feet would not have touched the ground. The plain fact is
that police had no intention of restraining Tolley
beyond a gentle slap on the wrist,
and the Magistrates - by their Conditional Discharge -
made it clear whose side they were on.
Such is justice.
Tim Wilmot suggests that had the roles been reversed,
he would not have got off
with a mere Conditional Discharge.
