TIm Wilmot recalls that the instant
that Councillor Pearse proposed approval,
Councillor Smale seconded the motion.
Tim Wilmot contacted Councillor Smale between 18-20 SEP 90,
before he was 'nobbled' by Tolley, the Solicitor.
Tim Wilmot informed Councillor Smale
what had been done to his application by the Chief Planning Officer,
and
Councillor Smale expressed himself very angry.
Tim Wilmot says that
Councillor Smale was adamantthat he had voted for the
immediate issuing of a Consent Notice
with any gas issues to be dealt with later.
He then made a comment
that the late Councillor Tony Knott recognised as classic Councillor Smale-speak:-
"How else can a man go to his bank, except with a piece of paper in his hand?"Within days, Tolley got to him,
but the truth is still discernable in Councillor Smale's police witness statement.
